As the elders of our community and the voters who have experienced so many changes in our lifetimes, seniors should be a leading voice in our world. Older adults are the people who show up at the polls more than any other age group. In Haywood County, more and more voters fall into that demographic.
It was two Democratic Presidents, Roosevelt and Johnson, that removed Older Americans from spending their senior years in poverty and secured their future. As a result, the Democratic party has always been concerned with Older Americans in terms of their needs and concerns.
